Today's post is in celebration of the birth of my new nephew...Samuel! My wonderful Cousin Liana and her husband GP welcomed in the cute baby boy earlier this afternoon.

I know baby Samuel is too young to be in any weddings any time soon but it made me think of all the cute little ones that grace our weddings.

They add such character, vibrancy, and youth to a wedding. They also serve as another way to add in personal touches to your day. Be creative with how you want your children attendant to be dressed. Let them wear their cute kiddy shoes and sneakers with their tux or paper crowns on their heads

I love bold headbands, or flowers in the hair and different takes on the ring bearer pillow and flower basket. Try incorporating your theme by using something untraditional like ribbon wands or a banner/sign,

You don't have to go with a typical dress and mini tux. I've been seeing a lot of tu-tu's, fairy outfits, suspenders, newsboy hats. Make it fun for them!!

My favorites are the awesome photos that come out of having kids at your wedding. They are all out there so you get some great faces and great emotion.

Inspiration of the Day: Pheasant Feathers

Such gorgeous detail was found in this Inspiration Photo shoot. It was featured on Style Me Pretty. Modeled after Ralph Lauren, I seriously cant get enough of these photos. Everything is so chic and original.

The feathers...are not your typical peacock feathers that are becoming popular wedding themes...but these are Pheasant feathers. And when mixed with the natural tan, wood and black tones....you get a very elegantly inspired affair with a ton of old world charm.

Love the dessert table and the very simple but dramatic cake.

Smitten for all this detail...the cloth and burlap runners, crisp white flowers, bunches of grain stalk, antique style candle holders, rustic table, black chairs, feathers....*sigh*

1. Felt flowers

I love all the new alternative Bouquet Ideas I have been seeing. The last post was on vintage brooch bouquets but here are some made out of felt flowers...they are so adorable. YOu can also choose to wear a collection of these in your hair.....did i mention this is a DIY project? check out the "how to" on the Brides Cafe Blog


2. Wicker

These photos were part of a collection of photos from a wedding in Costa Rica. The wicker adds great texture to the setting and the decor of the event. It totally pulls together the beachy-ness of the style but its so versatile that you can play with it to make it match other themes and styles.

4. Wooden Words

Not just any wooden words...these ones called "nuzzles". I love the style and typography as well as how the letters are split into pieces and they link together like a puzzle.

I know, such a random and precise detail. but I seriously love these little suckers. They are so dainty and cute...adding a little playful-ness yet the calligraphy keeps it classy. Not to mention they make great markers or ways to label items as well as place holders. Instead of personalized napkins with your name and date, you can have straws such as these with flags, so they can go into every one's drink.

Accessory Finds: Bride & Groom

I found this seller on etsy who makes gorgeous...affordable, accessories, perfect for adding that touch of elegance to your wedding attire. go ther her shop: designbykara. Its hard to scour the ginormous monster that is "etsy" and find the perfect style and designer especially when it comes to wedding jewelry...because there are so many!!

designbykara does a great job making them vintage inspired, and having those awesome big baubles that us brides love without making it look cheap or fake! and I love the subtle color tints in the stones.

And what about the gents? They need to accessorize too!! These are a bit pricier than the ladies jewelry above but I had to share because I thought it was super cool..../nerdy...but cool

I know a lot of us brides used pantone colors and spreads to help us pinpoint our wedding colors and when we nailed it...we were ecstatic!! how many times have you gone to your fiance and said "which pink babe? this one, this one or this one?" I know I did. Well Pantone and Sonia Spencer linked up to make pantone cufflinks!! Thats right...I spotted them on the blog "What Junebug loves" and if I knew sooner before my wedding, I would've gotten those for my husband. At $110 a set, they would make a great grooms gift, or groomsmen gift depending on your budget.

Its a great way to tie in your colors and have the guy sport your color rather than depending on the usual vest/tie color or boutonniere color.
